This is my full review of all the products I received in my UniVoxBox that I received from @Influenster for product testing. At first I was pretty reluctant to even start reviewing this box because I was a little disappointed with my box upon opening it. When it arrived in the mail my box was a little battered and when I opened it, my lipstick was broken and the pen that I oh so wanted was missing. I had emailed influenster customer service but that didn’t help because they don’t replace missing items. If it was the foundation that was missing, I would not have cared but I really love getting new pens and was super excited to try out the new Pilot pen. Now on to the products I received.
First up is the imPRESS press-on nails from Broadway Nails. I love the idea of the nails but wasn’t so psyched about the pattern that I had gotten. The were a great length for me and the adhesive was pretty strong that I had gotten a couple days of usage out of the nails. When I went online I saw that there were tons of cute color options and patterns and I’ll definitely be buying more of them. It was super easy to apply and I found all my nail shapes. And even got a little pattern going on with my nails.
Next up is the Red Rose Real Tea Brewed Tea Goodness Water Enhancer. I have never tried the Red Rose brand before getting my UniVoxBox so I was a little apprehensive. I was so used to the normal crystal light drops and I was completely blown out of the water with these ones. I actually like the Real Tea drops better because it looks like ice tea and didn’t leave that fake sugar/ extra sweet taste in my mouth. It was very pleasant and I found out that I only need about two drops to each bottle of water instead of going all out with 5. The flavor that I had gotten was Black Currant Raspberry and I see that there are 2 other flavors: Earl Grey and Black Tea. I have not tried it in hot water yet but that’s definitely on my to do list.
Next are the Platex Sport Fresh Balance Tampons. Luckily when I got my box I was on my period so I actually got to try them out. At first I thought the smell of the box was weird because it made all of the contents of my VoxBox smell the same. Even though it says lightly scented, the smell was pretty strong. That didn’t stop me though. When I used them I realized that the smell wasn’t as noticeable and it didn’t leave me feeling irritated as I usually do with other scented tampons.
Next is the Expert Last Lipstick from NYC New York Color. Even though I received this broken, I still loved it. The color was one that I don’t usually wear but I was ready and willing to venture out of my normal lipstick color choices. It was very pigmented and application was very easy. It left my lips feeling very smooth and did not dry out for a couple of hours. My lips are normally dry anyways so I did not think too much about it drying out. It has a little shine to it but I am more a fan of glossy lipsticks than matte ones. I am definitely looking into the other color options that NYC New York Color have in their Expert Last lipsticks.
Last but kinda sorta least is the Rimmel London Stay Matte Switch Foundation. I knew from day one when I took the survey for this product that I definitely would not like it. I am no way light enough to fit into the tiny color chart that Rimmel uses for their foundations. I had rubbed some of the foundation on my hand and it did not work. My skin is more on the dry end so making it look even dryer with a matte foundation is a no-go for me. I would love to actually use this product for my oily T-zone but unfortunately the color was not for me. If their were more color options besides 5 shades of beige, I would definitely give this product a chance. We’ll see if that ever happens.
